In Greek mythology, Oceanus was the river that flowed
around the Earth. He is the Titan God of the Sea and
Water, and the eldest of the Titans. He is the only male
titan who did not join the conflict between the titans and
the gods because he did not want to pick a side. Oceanus
and his sister Thetis had almost 6000 Oceanids (spirits of
the seas and rivers) as a result of their marriage.

4. HYPERION
Hyperion was the Titan god of light, wisdom, and
vigilance. He married his sister Thea, and they
gave birth to Helios, the sun, Selene, the moon,
and Eos, the dawn. Hyperion and three of his
other brothers, Coeus, Crius, and Iapetus, formed
the four pillars that separated and held the
heavens above one another. According to one of
the more horrifying Greek traditions, the same
four pillars pinned their father down while Cronus
castrated Uranus with his sickle.

5. IAPETUS
His name derives from the Greek word meaning to
pierce usually with a spear; therefore, Iapetus may have
been considered as the god of craftsmanship, although
other sources site him as the god of mortality. He was
also considered the personification of one of the four
pillars that hold the heavens and the earth apart, a role
that he later bequeathed to his son, Atlas. He
represented the pillar of the west, the other three being
represented by his brothers Crius, Coeus and Hyperion.

youngest of the first generation of Titans, the divine
descendants of Uranus (Father Heaven) and Gaea

during the mythological Golden Age, until he was
overthrown by his own son Zeus and imprisoned in
Tartarus. He was usually depicted with a sickle, which
was the instrument he used to castrate and depose
