JOSHUA 6:1-5 (NLT)

Now the gates of Jericho were tightly shut

because the people were afraid of the
Israelites. No one was allowed to go out or
in.  But the LORD said to Joshua, “I have

given you Jericho, its king, and all its strong

warriors.  You and your fighting men should

march around the town once a day for six

days.
JOSHUA 6:1-5 (NLT)

Seven priests will walk ahead of the Ark, each
carrying a ram’s horn. On the seventh day you are
to march around the town seven times, with the
priests blowing the horns. 5 When you hear the
priests give one long blast on the rams’ horns,
have all the people shout as loud as they can.
Then the walls of the town will collapse, and the
people can charge straight into the town.”

EXODUS 3:17(AMP)
So I said I will bring you up out of
17

the suffering and oppression of Egypt

to the land of the Canaanite, the
Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the
Hivite, and the Jebusite, to a
land flowing with milk and honey.”
NUMBERS 13:17-20 (NLT)
Moses gave the men these instructions
17

as he sent them out to explore the land:

“Go north through the Negev into the hill
country.  See what the land is like, and
18

find out whether the people living there are

strong or weak, few or many.
NUMBERS 13:17-20 (NLT)
See what kind of land they live in. Is it good
19

or bad? Do their towns have walls, or are they

unprotected like open camps?  Is the soil
20

fertile or poor? Are there many trees? Do

your best to bring back samples of the crops
you see.” (It happened to be the season for
harvesting the first ripe grapes.)
NUMBERS 13:27-28 (NLT)
This was their report to Moses: “We
27

entered the land you sent us to

explore, and it is indeed a bountiful
country—a land flowing with milk and
honey. Here is the kind of fruit it
produces.
NUMBERS 13:27-28 (NLT)
But the people living there are
28

powerful, and their towns are large

and fortified. We even saw giants
there, the descendants of Anak!
NUMBERS 13:30 (NLT)
But Caleb tried to quiet the people as
30

they stood before Moses. “Let’s go at

once to take the land,” he said. “We
can certainly conquer it!”
NUMBERS 13:31-33 (NLT)
31
But the other men who had explored the land
with him disagreed. “We can’t go up against
them! They are stronger than we are!”  So 32

they spread this bad report about the land

among the Israelites: “The land we traveled
through and explored will devour anyone who
goes to live there. All the people we saw were
huge.
NUMBERS 13:31-33 (NLT)
We even saw giants there, the
33

descendants of Anak. Next to them

we felt like grasshoppers, and
that’s what they thought, too!”

JONAH 1:1-2(NIV)
The word of the LORD came to
Jonah son of Amittai:  “Go to the

great city of Nineveh and preach

against it, because its wickedness
has come up before me.”
JONAH 1:3(NIV)
But Jonah ran away from the LORD and

headed for Tarshish. He went down to

Joppa, where he found a ship bound for
that port. After paying the fare, he went
aboard and sailed for Tarshish to flee from
the LORD.
JONAH 4:2 (AMP)

He prayed to the LORD and said, “O LORD, is
this not what I said when I was still in my
country? That is why I ran to Tarshish, because
I knew that You are a gracious and
compassionate God, slow to anger and great in
lovingkindness, and [when sinners turn to You]
You revoke the [sentence of] disaster [against
them].
RELIGION
MATTHEW 23: 16-22(NIV)
“Woe to you, blind guides! You say, ‘If
16

anyone swears by the temple, it means

nothing; but anyone who swears by the
gold of the temple is bound by that
oath.’  You blind fools! Which is greater:
17

the gold, or the temple that makes the

gold sacred?
MATTHEW 23: 16-22(NIV)
18
You also say, ‘If anyone swears by the altar, it
means nothing; but anyone who swears by the
gift on the altar is bound by that oath.’  You
19

blind men! Which is greater: the gift, or the

altar that makes the gift sacred? 20 Therefore,
anyone who swears by the altar swears by it and
by everything on it.
MATTHEW 23: 16-22(NIV)
21
And anyone who swears by the temple
swears by it and by the one who dwells in
it.  And anyone who swears by heaven
22

swears by God’s throne and by the one

who sits on it.
GALATIANS 3: 1-3(NLT)
Oh, foolish Galatians! Who has cast an
evil spell on you? For the meaning of Jesus
Christ’s death was made as clear to you as
if you had seen a picture of his death on
the cross.
GALATIANS 3: 1-3(NLT)

Let me ask you this one question: Did you
receive the Holy Spirit by obeying the law of
Moses? Of course not! You received the Spirit
because you believed the message you heard
about Christ. 3 How foolish can you be? After
starting your new lives in the Spirit, why are you
now trying to become perfect by your own
human effort?
LACK OF
FAITH
MARK 4:35-41(NLT)
35
As evening came, Jesus said to his
disciples, “Let’s cross to the other side of the
lake.”  So they took Jesus in the boat and
36

started out, leaving the crowds behind (although

other boats followed).
MARK 4:35-41(NLT)
37
But soon a fierce storm came up. High waves
were breaking into the boat, and it began to fill
with water. Jesus was sleeping at the back of
38

the boat with his head on a cushion. The

disciples woke him up, shouting, “Teacher,
don’t you care that we’re going to drown?”

MARK 4:35-41(NLT)
39
When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind
and said to the waves, “Silence! Be
still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was
a great calm.  Then he asked them, “Why are
40

you afraid? Do you still have no faith?”

41
The disciples were absolutely terrified. “Who
is this man?” they asked each other. “Even the
wind and waves obey him!”
LUST
1 KINGS 11:1(NIV)
King Solomon, however, loved many
foreign women besides Pharaoh’s
daughter—Moabites,
Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians and
Hittites.
1 KINGS 11:2(NIV)
They were from nations about which
the LORD had told the Israelites, “You
must not intermarry with them, because
they will surely turn your hearts after
their gods.” Nevertheless, Solomon held
fast to them in love.
1 KINGS 11:4(NIV)
As Solomon grew old, his wives
turned his heart after other
gods, and his heart was not fully
devoted to the LORD his God, as
the heart of David his father had
been.
1 KINGS 11:5-6(NIV)
He followed Ashtoreth the goddess of
the Sidonians, and Molek the detestable
god of the Ammonites.  So Solomon did

evil in the eyes of the LORD; he did not

follow the LORD completely, as David
his father had done.
1 KINGS 11:7-8(NIV)
On a hill east of Jerusalem, Solomon built

a high place for Chemosh the detestable

god of Moab, and for Molek the detestable
god of the Ammonites.  He did the same

for all his foreign wives, who burned

incense and offered sacrifices to their gods.
1 KINGS 11:9-10(NIV)
The LORD became angry with Solomon

because his heart had turned away from

the LORD, the God of Israel, who had
appeared to him twice.  Although he had
10

forbidden Solomon to follow other

gods, Solomon did not keep the LORD’s
command.
1 KINGS 11:11(NIV)
So the LORD said to Solomon, “Since
11

this is your attitude and you have not

kept my covenant and my decrees, which
I commanded you, I will most certainly
tear the kingdom away from you and
give it to one of your subordinates.

GET
CIRCUMCISE
JEREMIAH 9:25-26(NLT)
25
“A time is coming,” says the LORD, “when I
will punish all those who are circumcised in
body but not in spirit—  the Egyptians,
26

Edomites, Ammonites, Moabites, the people

who live in the desert in remote places, and yes,
even the people of Judah. And like all these
pagan nations, the people of Israel also have
uncircumcised hearts.”
ROMANS 2:28-29(NIV)
28
A person is not a Jew who is one only
outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward
and physical.  No, a person is a Jew who is one
29

inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of

the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written
code. Such a person’s praise is not from other
people, but from God.
ROMANS 3:22-24(NIV)
22 This righteousness is given through faith in
Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no
difference between Jew and Gentile,  for all
23

have sinned and fall short of the glory of

God,  and all are justified freely by his

grace through the redemption that came by

Christ Jesus.

2 Samuel 12: 13-14(NLT)
13 Then David confessed to Nathan, “I have
sinned against the LORD.”
Nathan replied, “Yes, but the LORD has
forgiven you, and you won’t die for this
sin.  Nevertheless, because you have shown
14

utter contempt for the word of the LORD[a] by

doing this, your child will die.”

JEREMIAH 7:3-7 (AMP)

the God of Israel, “Change

JEREMIAH 7:3-7 (AMP)

that Jerusalem will be protected by God
because of the temple], saying, ‘This is the

JEREMIAH 7:3-6;7 (AMP)

For if you thoroughly change your ways
and your behavior, if you
thoroughly and honestly practice justice
between a man and his neighbor,

then I will let you live in this place, in
the land that I gave to your fathers [to live
