Marilou Diaz-Abaya
• multi-awarded film director from the
Philippines.
• She meticulously produced films for
over twenty years and was part of the
Second Golden Age of Philippine
Cinema.
• Feminist director
• Social and political film for social
reform
Laurice Guillen
- worked as an actress before
crossing over to film and
television work.
• It was on television that she
became a household name when
she joined the cast of "Flor de
Luna" in 1978 as Jo Alicante.
Lorenzo "Lore" Reyes

• is a Filipino director, writer and


producer, a product of the
Philippine Science High School
and the University of the
Philippines, Diliman.
extensive experience in
teaching acting and in line
producing, and production
budgeting and scheduling
for film, television and
theatre.

of the Directors Guild of
the Philippines, Inc.

2000s
Jose Javier Reyes
• is a Filipino writer, director,
miscellaneous crew and actor. He has
won awards at the Gawad Urian,
Metro Manila Film Festival and
Filipino Star Awards for Movies for
his films, which include Pahiram Ng
Isang Umaga, Batang PX and
Kasal, kasali, kasalo.
Chito S. Roño
• also known as Sixto Kayko, is a Filipino
writer, film producer and film director
known for his expansive vision and special-
effects-heavy films, most notably Yamashita:
The Tiger's Treasure (2001) for which he
won the Metro Manila Film Festival for best
director.
• He is also known for his 1997 film Nasaan
ang Puso which earned him his first MMFF
for best director.
Mark Meily
• Meily took up Visual
Communications at the
University of the Philippines
before studying film at
Mowelfund in Manila and in
Paris as a French Government
Scholar for cinema.
• Meily directed Crying
Ladies, his first feature film.
- won six (6) awards at the
2003 Metro Manila Film
Festival including Best
Picture and Best Director. -
The film also received
several nominations from
different award-giving
bodies in Philippines.
Erik Matti
• His most notable
achievement in film is Magic
Temple, which won top
honors for Best Screenplay
(shared with Peque Gallaga
and Lore Reyes) during the
1996 Metro Manila Film
Festival.
Wenn Deramas
• Deramas worked as a waiter at the Aristocrat Restaurant
and was promoted as food and beverages coordinator
after two years. In 1990, he worked as a production
assistant for the TV show Tatak Pilipino. He also
worked as a writer for the show Teysi ng Tahanan and
was promoted as the executive producer of Calvento
Files. Since then, Deramas had been directing different
soap operas such as Mula sa Puso (original and remake)
and films including the Ang Tanging Ina series and
several blockbuster movies of comedian Vice Ganda.
