Installation
Software installation
• Insert the MTT installation key into the laptop and copy the setup.exe onto the desktop.
• Double click on the setup.exe file located on the desktop.
• Make sure English is selected as the installation language and Press OK.
• Press Next to advance to the next page
• The destination directory will now appear. Do not make any changes to the directory, click on the Next > button.
• Click on the checkbox beside create a desktop shortcut and then click Next >.
• Click on Install.
• The FTDI CDM Driver Installer should appear. Click on Extract.
• The Device Driver Installation Wizard should appear. Click on Next >.
• Select I accept this agreement and press Next >.
• After the progress bar completes, it should indicate that drivers were successfully
• installed. Click Finish.
• Restart computer
Software installation
• Open up the MTT application icon located on the desktop.

• Once the application has been opened you will be prompted for the software license code. Click on Copy To Clipboard to copy
the request code. Ensure to copy the request code into a text file and send it to software@mccoyglobal.com.

• Open up Start Menu located on the bottom left corner off the taskbar. Then click on Control Panel.

• In the bottom right corner of the control panel type in Network and Sharing.

• Then click on Network and Sharing Centre.

• Click on Change adapter settings.

• Right click on Local Area Connection and click on Properties.

• Select Internet Protocol Version (TCP/IPv4) and click on Properties.

• Click on Use the following IP address and input the IP, Subnet mask and Default Gateway listed down below. Click on use the
following DNS server address down below and then click on OK.
Creating user accounts
•User accounts may be added under one of three user access levels: Administrator,
User Level 1, and User Level 2. If running the MTT Password Manager program for
the first time, it is necessary to first set up an Administrator account using the
following steps:
• Navigate to the MTT installation directory (C:\MTT by default) and open the
MTT_PasswordManager.exefile. If setting up login credentials for the first
time, a “No Passwords.ini found” prompt will appear. Click OK to dismiss.
• In the Add or Edit User Information window, select Administrator from the
Level drop down menu. Type in the desired user name, password, and pass
phrase hint.
• Login to the newly configured Administrator account by selecting the account
and then clicking the Login button.
•Additional user accounts may now be created under three levels of access:
• Administrator - Full access all MTT software functionality
• User Level 1 - Partial access
• User Level 2 - Limited access

•Find the MTT software icon on your desktop
•Choose user from menu
•Click Login
•Enter password
Load cell manager
•To configure a new load cell or edit a previously configured load cell, navigate to the Job
Configuration screen click on the Load Cell Manager button to bring up the load cell editor
window. All previously configured load cells will be listed in the Calibration Sensor Listing.

• Click on Add, which will open the Torque Sensor Setup screen.

• Using the drop-down menu, select the load cell operation type. Selecting Hydraulic or
Electronic will load a different set of user settings:

• Electronic Setup - Fill in the load cell name and the serial number. Obtain the
manufactures calibration sheet and fill in the maximum full-scale parameter and the
appropriate sensitivity.

• Hydraulic Setup – Fill in the load cell name and the serial number. Obtain the
manufactures calibration sheet

• and fill in the load cell and the maximum allowable load in pounds. Fill in the maximum
pressure rating of the transducer being used in pounds per square inch. The full force
range will then be calculated underneath the area parameter.

• To edit an existing load cell file, select the load cell from the Calibration Sensor Listing
menu and click on Edit. Load cell files can also be removed by selecting the load cell file
and clicking on Remove.
Configuring a
Connection Recipe
In the Connection Manager, click the Add button. This will display all
available connection features including torque vs. time, torque vs. turns,
and torque vs. turns & time. The Edit Aux Items button allows the users to
fill out additional connection information as well as to add applicable
connection notes.
• For an 8-round connection, deselect the Turns checkbox and fill out the
remaining connection parameters located under the Connection Library
List
• For a premium connection, ensure that the Turns checkbox is selected,
then Choose one of the following three options from the turns drop
down menu:
I. No Max Turns Error: Used for logging turns data after the configured
maximum setting. The dump valve will not fire at the maximum turns
setting, only at optimal torque or if it has been manually triggered
II. Max Turns Error: Used for logging turns data prior to the maximum
turns setting. The dump valve will fire at the configured maximum
turns value
III. Align after MU: The turns data will start off at the pre-configured turns
setting; ex. - 2 will keep logging until the dump valve has fired or has
been manually triggered. The data will then be aligned on the shoulder
point which will be located on the 0 coordinate. The turns before and
turns after shoulder can be set in the Default Settings screen
To enable shoulder detection, select the Shouldered Connection checkbox
and input the desired high and low shoulder limit. If enabled, the user has
the option to enable delta turns and shoulder slope features. Each feature
can be enabled individually if required.
The torque units can be set in ft-lbs or N-m. The system torque units are set
based on the preconfigured connection recipe. It is recommended the same
units be used for the entire job. MTT accounts for torque units to be
converted from one to another if a connection library with opposite units
has been selected in the current job.
Creating a New Job
• Click on New Job. The Graph Settings screen will now appear
containing multiple job parameters. The job name can be modified
using the Rename button if required
• Fill in the job name and select a pre-configured connection recipe
from the Connection List.
• By default, joint count is set to start at 0. It can be set to a different
value by enabling the Joint Numbering button and manually
inputting the desired number. Click Save to continue to the Job
Settings screen.
• The job settings can now be filled out. When complete, click Save
to continue to the Main Hardware Settings screen.

• After you have named your job, you will
be prompted to select a connection.
• If the connection you are going to be
running is in the list, select it and review
the parameters to ensure they are
accurate and no changes have been
made.
• If the connection you are going to be
running is not in the list. Go through the
steps to create a new connection.

Hardware settings
• Enter type of tong being used
• Find arm length of the tong and input into
settings
• Verify load cell serial number and select
in the hardware settings
• Perform turns calibration
• Verify dump valve actuation is working
correctly
• Verify turns output is working correctly
• Verify torque output is working correctly

Click on start make up:


• Operator will begin making up
connection, live visual of torque
turn output will begin.
• After makeup is completed, you
will be prompted to select
shoulder, MTT will auto select
the shoulder, but you will have
the ability to make adjustment if
needed. Once you are satisfied
with the shoulder point select
accept shoulder.
Running the job

• If all connection criteria is met, the MTT


will recommend to accept the
connection.
• If running an accessory joint now will be
the time to select “accessory connection”
• If satisfied with the connection, select
accept makeup
• If not satisfied with the connection, select
reject makeup.

connection criteria, the MTT will
recommend to reject the makeup.
• The operator will still have the choice to
reject the makeup or accept
If laying out a joint or needing to edit a joint follow these steps

• If laying out, click lay out
• If editing click edit all, here you can change comments, length or
change from accept to reject or vise versa

•While in the makeup screen, select change lot.
•Choose and review connection data.
•You are given the choice on whether to continue joint
numbering from the last connection or restart at 1.
Completing the job
To create the job report:
• From the makeup screen, select home
menu
• From the home menu, select report
• Make selections on what information is
required on your report
• Select create pdf
• Review fob information and edit if
needed, select ok.
• Pdf location will pop up in windows.
Open, review and send to company man.
