Subject: How to Update Software.

Cause: Judit now has the ability to update software and install
software on replacement controllers.
Resolution: Update Software.
The information provided herein is considered to be confidential information and is intended to assist you in resolving product issues. In addition, the
information herein is not to be an authorization for any financial claim against MCFA. Always follow all Safety, Warning, Caution and Precaution
information that is provided in the appropriate Service Manual and Operation and Maintenance Manual(s).
• Refer to Service Manual or Service Handbook (SH) and

Operation and Maintenance Manual (OMM) or Operating
Instructions (BL) for safety guidelines prior to working on
equipment.
• Make all repairs with the pantograph reach truck parked

on a level, hard surface. Block the pantograph reach
truck so it does not roll while working on or under the
pantograph reach truck.
• Ensure enforcement of company policy for proper

lockout/tag out procedure.
• Log into the MCFA Dealer Portal and locate the Download
Center in the Service Page.
• Under the Pantograph Reach Truck (5.14-) folder, download
and unzip the latest Software Update. Then run the files to
install on your laptop.
• Open Judit and select the ETR 335/345 06-2014- project.
You should now see a new button for the Software Download
Tool.
• Now select the ETR_3xx_2013 Judit project as shown below.
• Once you are connected to the pantograph reach truck, click
the disk to begin the parameter backup.
• After clicking the disk, you will see this dialog box asking if you
want to save the data file, select Yes.
• Select a name for the backup and a location to store the
backup file. We recommend using the serial number.
• Once the parameter backup is complete, close Judit and
restart it, select the ETR project, then click on the new
Software download tool button.
• You may see this screen after installation. If you do, please
click on the number 3 in the lower right corner and exit the
Software Download Tool screen. Then re-enter the Software
Download Tool again.
• At this point please verify what performance package your pantograph
reach truck has. Efficiency Performance or High Performance? This is a
very important step. If the wrong software is installed, the pantograph reach
truck will not run after updating.
How to identify
High Performance Package
• High Performance Package
Located on the
hydraulic controller,
900 indicates High

Package
• Standard Performance Package
Located on the
hydraulic controller,
675 indicates
standard
performance.
If you see 16L on

the pump it
indicates a
standard
performance
pump.
4,5 kW drive
motor indicates
standard
performance.
• After backing up the parameters and selecting correct
performance package, you will see this screen. Click button
number 1 shown below.
• After clicking button 1 you will see this dialog box. Turn the
key switch OFF. Now turn the key switch back ON and at the
same time click the OK button.

• You will see several screens like this. This scanning
procedure will take several minutes. Wait until it is finished.
• Once the scan is complete, you will see this screen. The
areas in red will show the actual component OS (Operating
System) versions as compared to the versions for the new
update. Now click on button number 2.
• After clicking button 2 you will see this dialog box. Turn the
key switch OFF. Now turn the key switch back on and at the
same time click the OK button.

• You will see several screens like this. This loading procedure
will take several minutes. Wait until it is finished.
• Software update is complete. Once complete, check that the
Setpoint and Actual numbers match. If the numbers match,
click button number 3.
• After clicking button number 3, this dialog box will be
presented. Turn the key switch OFF and ON again, then click
on the button to the right to return to the ETR project.
• Once logged onto Judit, click on the parameter upload icon,
then select Yes when asked if you want to load the data from a
file.
• After clicking Yes to the restore question, navigate to the folder
where you previously stored the parameters and select the
file. Then click Open to begin the upload process.
• After loading the parameters, you will need to save the serial
number. Please click on the display.
• Then click on the hour meter in box below.
• You will then need to type the serial number in the box below
and click set once finished.
• Once the parameter restore is complete and the serial number
has been set, turn the key switch OFF then ON again. Verify
that the parameters have been restored and there are no error
messages.
• Finally, perform a test
drive to ensure all
systems are functioning
properly.
