Subject: Installing lift limit switch.

Cause: Customer requests lift limit option due to lift height end
stop being too close to ceiling or obstruction for some
applications.

Resolution: Follow procedure to install lift limit switch and change


parameters in Judit.

Lift Limit With or Without Bypass

• Refer to Service Handbook (SH) and Operating


Instructions (BL) for safety guidelines prior to working on
equipment

• Make all repairs with the lift truck parked on a level, hard
surface. Block the lift truck so it does not roll while
working on or under the lift truck

• Follow appropriate lockout/tagout guidelines. Please


refer to HPK article 000019-15C for general guidelines

Hold down the


mast lift limit
bypass button to
lift past a set lift
limit.

Make sure to verify part number with corresponding mast


height.

Example: For a mast height


of 425-450”, the part number
is 51383554.

Attach magnet
for the switch to
this bracket.

Install switch
and bracket on
the lift cylinder.
The hose
clamps hold the
bracket on and
allows for the
switch to be
adjusted to
achieve the
correct lift
height.

Hose clamps
should face in
to keep from
getting caught
in the mast.

Route the
harness along
with the mast
harness and
keep inside
the tube of the
lift cylinder.

Correct location
and angle of
the bracket.
Hose clamps
are facing
towards
window for
easy tightening.

XB235
connector.

Connect the
harness from
the lift limit
switch to the
XB235
connector.

Locate the
green block in
the harness
XB213
underneath
display in the
drive motor
compartment.

Typically
found in the
same area as
the auto tilt
level plug. You
will need to
locate XB213.

If using the
bypass switch
plug this into
the switch. If
not using the
bypass switch
the harness will
need to be
jumped out.

If not using the


bypass switch
you will need to
remove pin #1
at XB213 and
pin #2 at
XB213 and
connect these
wires together.

In the basic
drive menu you
will need to
change
parameter 23b
to 1.
Lift Limit With or Without Bypass

It is common to get event message 2107 if you don’t install the


switch. From the lift parameter screen turn parameter 23ba to 1
to resolve this event message.

Be sure to verify
complete functionality of
the installed option
before putting the unit
back into service. This
includes making sure
the unit does not hit any
obstructions in the
warehouse.
