AUTHOR OF THE STORY
• The Author of the short story Master Mashai is the first Asian Nobel Prize
winner, the well known poet, writer, playwright, composer, philosopher
Rabindranath Tagore who won in 1913 for his vast output of poetry and short
stories.

• Tagore was born in Kolkata, Indian into a family whose wealth and life style can
now only be seen in movies. Tagore was educated in classical Indian literature
and at age eight began to write poetry and ended up reshaping the Bengali
Language.

• His moral authority became so great that he was able to write the national
anthems of both India and Bangladesh.
MAIN CHARACTERS

1.Adhar Lal Babu


• Adhar babu was very strict person. Everyone in the family
including his wife feared him. The property was he had was left
to him by his father. When his son venu gapol came in to this
world he started spending money on him.
2.NANIBALA.
•Nanibala was adhar babu’s wife. She was always afraid of
her husband. She was a jealous person and very caring
caring to his son. She was very skeptical and had a little
trust on her people.
3. VENU GOPAL
•Venu gopal was the son of adhar babu along
with his two sisters. He was not good in his
study. He was very fond of his teacher haralal
and spent most of the time with him. But as he
grew up, he changed a lot.
4. HARALAL

•Haralal was very poor but hardworking. He


always tried his best to reach his goals. He and
his student venu gopal were very friendly to each
other. He was good at his study.
MAIN IDEA
•Master mashai teaches us to think before doing
something.
•We should not trust people easily.
•We learned that hard-work never goes in vain.
