Part II: Problems
• They were called liars for saying that they are a Tasaday and not
Manobo, and that they were only bribed to act as if they really are a
Tasaday.

• They were fooled by the visitors who offered to help them .

• They lack proper food resources.

• Lack of job opportunities.

• They don't have a voice in the society.

Part III: Groups Reaction
To The Documentary
• After listening to one of the Tasaday talk about their life, and how they lived as
Tasadays, we are convinced that they really are real Tasadays .

• Also, we realized how being uneducated and poor affect someone's reliability. The
Tasaday tribe has been trying to prove their existence , but no one ever listened.
They were labeled as liars instead.

• We also realized how much people are not interested in Indigenous peoples.
People are so focused on following the trends and learning about other countries
that we forgot to prioritize pur own.
Part IV: Possible Sutions

• Create more documentations that shares the life of Tasaday Tribe and
show it to more and bigger platforms.

• Create programs where in they were provided a budget just like 4ps or
provide them materials for their livelihood.

• Create programs that teaches the children the history, life, culture and
traditions of the Tasaday Tribe

Im the documentary we've watched, the "Tasaday" by Kara David; it is a mind opening to those
people especially who have closed mind set when it comes to tribes recognizing.
Even though we can barely see them in our country, we must still know and put in our mind that
tribe people still exists and we should respect their culture as well as their traditions and who they
really are.
It is awful to hear and watch the documentary about Tasaday especially in the part when other
people said that they will promise to give you something and help you in exchange of your
presence. But at the end, when you give them what you want, they will make promises to be
broken. Because their intention is to use you and gain from you but you will not gain any help
from them.
Maybe that could be the lesson we've learned watching this documentary: Is not to easily trust
anyone and and give what they want but you can receive anything. Also, we should speak our
insight and say it to the world like what Lobo said and did. To speak for your tribe and be proud
on who you are.

The documentary "Tasaday", focuses on the problems and hardships they faced by being part of their
tribe, but the beginning of the documentary showed how long Kara David and her crew traveled just to
get to Tasaday's location. And I think that is one of the reasons why they are poor and uneducated. They
were far from the civilization where they could attend schools and find a job, just like us. Because of that,
I learned to give more importance to what I have right now. I am privileged to go to school and study,
unlike other people so I should appreciate and be grateful for it.
In the documentary, one of the Tasaday told Kara their history, how they were fooled and discriminated
by other visitors who only used them to publish articles, where they were labeled as liars regarding their
identity. They were so done by all those discriminations that they wanted to end it by making some of
their members attend schools in Manila. To prove their existence. That they aren't lying about being a
Tasaday.

People from the Tasaday tribe expect and trust other people to change their lives,
believing that other people will help improve their daily lives and give them a
brighter future, but in the end, they are forgotten by those people who made
promises to them. I do believe that we should not depend on someone to improve
our lives. We should be the ones to take action to achieve our goals in life. Less
expectations mean less disappointment.

My takeaway from the clip that we watched was that we can't accept just anyone into
our life, especially when we don't really know the individuals who are trying to
interact with us. Instead, it's preferable to learn to detect and be patient with people
in their actions as well as their spoken words. A native who is now a parent stated
that education is crucial, even if it is challenging. He insists on teaching his children so
that they are not like them, who were duped and exploited as youngsters, resulting in
contempt for their tribe. The importance of people we can trust, not just because we
were told to believe them but also because we will not be utterly deceived by their
words and inaction, is what I learned the most from what I watched and talked.
because we are unsure of their intentions.

After I watched the documentary about Tadasay group I learned that Tadasay group is a
group of people living in a cave, this group has a few members and they are wearing
bahag. Based on the video Tadasay group are afraid to many people or other people
because on what happened to them, they experienced being judged and bullied
because many people are saying that they are liars and Tadasay people are not really
existing. That is why, I learned that people can easily judge other people based on what
they read or what they heard which is wrong we should know the story of both side
before do a judgement we can also conduct a research to ensure who is right and who
is wrong, because a small mistake can become a biggest mistake.

After watching the documentary, I realized how unjust the world is to those people
who where supposed to live a quiet and peaceful lives but instead exploited and the
weak were not given justice for themselves to speak up and fight for their rights. The
Tasaday were living in peace until they were discovered, they lost their peace, were
used for profit, they were talked about but they lost their voice to speak for
themselves. I also discovered how important it is to know the truth because a lie has
the power to destroy lives. So, let's look what actually occurred and learn to give
others a chance to speak for themselves.

I learned that people living in a secluded place or among primitive people are
quietly satisfied with their lives, but the realization came out of nowhere. While
people need to grow, goods inside their community also dwindled, so they decided
to look for opportunities outside their comfort zone. Above all, it might be enjoyable
to live in a world where there is no negative presence, but adapting to changes in
your environment is paramount. It should be noted that we have different
perspectives on our lives. As I reflect on the life of Tasaday, I see that giving respect
and privacy to their lifestyle has been taken away from them by the anthropologist.
As I said above, everyone has their own outlook on life, and you just can't force
them to change what you believe to be true. because it may be good for you but not
for them.
