INTRODUCTION

• Material Management is the management system for planning and


controlling all efforts necessary to ensure that the correct quality and quantity
of materials are specified in a timely manner, obtained at a reasonable cost,
and available at the point of use when required.
LITERATURE REVIEW

• Sam Charles (2003) has also made an attempt to study the material
management practices and techniques being adopted at Ceebros Garden
construction project in Chennai. To evaluate the practices at site with the
general material management principles and to suggest the practices and
techniques this will improve the management of materials at this project so as
to have an optimization in all the aspects of material management. The study
does not include non-consumable material items for its study and the duration
of the study was limited.

became the central point of any substance related problems.
