 ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
• Study of how to train the computers, in
purpose enable the computers/machines can
think and learn
• The theory and development of computer
system able to perform tasks that normally
require human intelligence, such as visual
perception, speech recognition, decision
making, language translation, etc.
• It is the branch of computer science that
emphasizes the development of intelligence
machines, thinking and working like humans

Machine learning adalah algoritma

DATA SCIENCE
Data Science is an inter-disciplinary field that uses
scientific methods, processes, algorithms and systems
to extract knowledge and insights from many
structural and unstructured data

Data science is the domain of study that deals with

vast volumes of data using modern tools and
techniques to find unseen patterns, derive meaningful
information, and make business decisions. Data
science uses complex machine learning algorithms to
build predictive models.

Big data analytics – Introduction (1)

 Healthcare industry has generated large amount of data – record keeping, compliance,
regulatory requirements and patient care.

 The massive quantities of data supposed to support wide range of medical and healthcare
function, including clinical decision system, disease surveillance and population health
management.

 Big data in healthcare refers to electronic health data sets so large and complex that they are
difficult (or impossible) to manage with traditional software and/or hardware; nor can they be
easily managed with traditional or common data management tools and methods.

 Big data in healthcare is overwhelming not only because of its volume but also because of
the diversity of data types and the speed at which it must be managed.

Big data analytics – Introduction (2)

 “Big data” in the healthcare industry:

 clinical data from CPOE – computerized provider (physician) order entry (e.g., medical records)
 Patient data – electronic health records
 Clinical decision support system (i.e., prescriptions, medical imaging, radiology, biometrics, laboratory,
pharmacy, insurance, and administrative data)
 Machine generated (sensor data) e.g., monitoring vital sign, social media post (i.e., twitter – feeds, Facebook
status, web-pages, and blogs)
 Less patient specific information – human generated data (e.g., emergency care data, e-mails. news feed,
articles in medical journals)
