Finish Strong – December 2015

 
December is upon us, and thoughts go to upcoming time off, travel, seasonal
celebrations, family and such. But wait a minute – we are still at work!
 
This time of year it is important for all of us to remain focused on the task at
hand. Letting our minds stray can be very hazardous to ourselves and those
around us.
Let’s use our LPS tools to ensure we realize and understand how the work we
are performing can affect those working with us, and those working around
us.

As always, we have to-

 
ASSESS The risk.
What could go wrong?
What is the worst thing that could happen if something does go wrong?
ANALYZE How to reduce the risk.
Do I have all the necessary training and knowledge to do this job properly?
Do I have all the proper tools and personal protective equipment?
ACT To ensure loss-free operations.
Take necessary action to ensure the job is done properly. Follow written
procedures. Ask for assistance if needed.

Do not proceed unless all risks have been addressed!
