LIFE CYCLE
Entrepreneurial stage (1938 -1960)
• It was started with only US$27 by Lee Byung-chul as a trading company.
• Samsung began as a grocery store, trading and exporting goods produced in and around the city.
• Goal was not clear

Collectivity stage (1960 – 1980


• In this period the mission was clear ,so they entered into the electronic market with the formation of several electronics-
focused divisions.
• Lee Byung-chul established himself as a leader.
Formalisation and control stage (1980 – 2000)
• Started it overseas production unit.
• In 1995 achievied sales KRW 1 trillion, export KRW 1 billion.
• Switched to an independent management system and changing the name to 'Samsung Electro-Mechanics’

Elaboration stage (2000 – present)


• Samsung acquired companies that developed technologies for electronic devices.
• Acquired organizations that would help it expand its offerings in medical technology, smart TVs, OLED displays, home
automation, printing solutions, cloud solutions, payment solutions, and artificial intelligence.
• Diversified its product by announcing Gear VR and Galaxy series in mobile phones.
• In 2017, Samsung was given governmental permission to test a self-driving car.
