Making A Generalization

Making Generalizations can be stated as a broad
statement about a group of people or things.

How to make a generalization?
• Be careful to make sure your generalization is valid/ true/
supported by facts.
• Uses logic and reasoning
• Proven with several examples
• Pay attention for signal words such as some, most, might,
sometimes, often, probably, typically, many, rarely, few, none,
all, always, never, everyone, nobody, etc.
Restating and Giving Opinion
