Type Content

No fill Results in a shape that is entirely transparent except for an outline, if used

Solid fill Applies a solid, uniform color to a shape

Gradient fill Blends fills between two or more colors that gradually change from one
color to another
Picture fill Fills the shape completely with a picture, although it may not be seamless

Texture fill Seamlessly fills the shape completely with a texture

Pattern fill Fills the shape with a pattern comprised of lines, dots, dashes, or a checker
board.
Slide background fill Fills the shape with the area or background on the slide that is behind the
shape

MP4 Video .mp4 Moving Picture Experts Group 4: File format commonly
used with video cameras. Supported by all browsers
Movie File .mpg or .mpeg Moving Picture Experts Group: Evolving set of standards for
video and audio compression developed by the Moving
Picture Experts Group
Adobe Flash Media .swf Flash Video: File format that can be used to deliver video
over the Internet. Uses Adobe Flash Player.
Windows Media .wmv Windows Media Video: Compresses audio and
Video File video by using Windows Media Video compressed format.

File Format Extension Description

MIDI File .mid or .midi Musical Instrument Digital Interface: Standard format for
interchange of musical information between musical
instruments, synthesizers, and computers
MP3 File .mp3 MPEG Audio Layer 3: Sound file that has been
compressed by using the M PEG Audio Layer 3 codec
Windows Audio File .wav Wave Form: Stores sounds as waveforms. Depending on
various factors, one minute of sound can occupy as little as
644 kilobytes or as much as 27 megabytes of storage
Windows Media .wma Windows Media Audio: Sound format used to distribute
Audio File recorded music, usually over the Internet. Compressed
using the Microsoft Windows Media Audio codec

Recording considerations:
– A microphone is needed
– Voice narration takes precedence over any other
sounds during playback
– PowerPoint records the amount of time it takes to
narrate each slide
– The recording can be paused and resumed during the
process
