What does Agronomic means?
The study of a division of agriculture dealing with crop
production and management of farm land. Individuals
specializing in agronomy are referred to as Agronomists
and usually run experiments on large scale crops.

What is meant by the term IoT?

IoT is short for Internet of Things. The Internet of
Things refers to the ever-growing network of
physical objects that feature an IP address
for internet connectivity, and the communication that
occurs between these objects and other Internet-enabled
devices and systems.
Benefits of IoT in Agronomic System
IoT has the potential to transform agriculture in many
aspects. Namely, there are five ways IoT can improve this
system:
i. Tons of data collected by IoT devices:
Data collected by smart agriculture sensors, e.g. weather
conditions, soil quality, crop’s growth progress or
cattle health. This data can be used to track the state of
your business in general, as well as staff performance and
equipment efficiency etc.

ii. Low production risks.

The ability to track your product's output allows you to
plan for better product distribution. If you know how
many crops you are going to harvest, you make sure that
your product does not surround the seller.

iii. Cost management and waste reduction:

By looking at any differences in crop growth and
livestock health, you can reduce the risk of losing your
production.

iv. Increased business efficiency through

process automation:
Using smart devices, you can automate multiple
processes throughout your production cycle, such as.
Irrigation, fertilizer, watering, or providing proper
temperature and humidity.

v. Enhanced product quality :

Achieve better control over the production process and
maintain higher standards of crop quality and growth
capacity through automation.
The major devices used in our project:
i. Wi-Fi Modules (ESP8266) :
WEMOS D1 is a WIFI development board based on ESP8266
12E. The functioning is similar to that of NODEMCU , except
that the hardware is built resembling Arduino UNO. This is
handy in using with IOT projects.

ii. 4 Channel Relay:

A relay is defined as an electrically operated switch; their main
use is controlling circuits by a low-power signal or when
several circuits must be controlled by one signal. The
Arduino relay module is designed for a wide range for micro
controllers such as the Arduino board or Node MCU

iii. DHT11 Sensors :

The DHT11 is a basic, ultra low-cost digital temperature and
humidity sensor. It uses a capacitive humidity sensor and a
thermistor to measure the surrounding air, and spits out a digital
signal on the data pin (no analog input pins needed).

iv. Soil Moisture Sensor :

Soil moisture sensors typically refer to sensors that
estimate volumetric water content. Another class of
sensors measure another property of moisture in soils
called water potential

v. Water Pumps:
A pump is a device that moves fluids (liquids or gases) by
mechanical action. Pumps can be classified into three
major groups according to the method they use to move
the fluid: direct lift, displacement, and gravity pumps.

iii. Sound Sensor:

Sound Sensor can detect the sound intensity of the
environment. The main component of the module is a
simple microphone, which is based on the LM386
amplifier and an electret microphone.
