Computer Ports and Power

Computer Port
The computer system must be connected
together to be able to function properly.
The computer port is a special outlet at the
back of the CPU box where the peripherals
are connected like the keyboard, mouse,
printer, monitor and speakers. The wire
connecting to the computer is called data
cable or connector.
Computer Power
The computer needs electricity to function
properly. The computer gets its electricity
from a power source. The power source
is the same source that you use for
television and other appliances which is
called the power outlet.
The wire that use to connect to the power
outlet is the power cord.
The Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR)
is used to protect the computer from power
changes.
Computer Power Switches
The CPU, printer, speakers and monitor
need power to work. These computer
peripherals should be plugged to a power
source and they have their own switches
to turn on or off the power.
