Steps to ensure that
you find the right
resume
 Read in Chronological Order

 Similar projects

 Dates/Duration of Employment

 Companies/Clients

 Projects and Skillsets

 Locations

 Education and Certifications

z
Identify the gaps in the
resume

 Look for the duration of the projects.

 Look for gaps that might indicate short-term

employment left off the resume.

 Dates that give years only instead of years and

months can cover up a gap of several months.
Therefore, make sure you confirm the months
of employment while you talk to them.

 Gaps are still acceptable if there is a genuine

reason and it is not too long. However, the
problem arises when somebody tries to hide
these gaps.
z
Location of the
projects

 Make a note of the location of the

projects that the candidate has
worked on.

 It would be helpful in judging

whether the candidate would be
willing to relocate or not.

 This would also help in identifying

the actual onsite projects that the
candidate has completed.
z Education and Certifications

 Make sure you confirm the year in which the

candidate completed his/her education.

 Confirm the name of University or college.

 Clarify whether they have completed all the

related coursework and received the degree
or is anything pending.

 Clarify about the pursuing college degree.

 Certifications get expired after a certain

period. Ensure that only the valid or active
certifications are listed on the resume.
