St. Ignatius of Loyola

St. Francis Xavier St. Peter Faber

Six (6) other men decided that they want to
serve the lord together. They all had a common
vision: Ignatius vison. They vowed in poverty and
chastity, but they still didn’t think of themselves a
religious order or a religious community.

They decided to go to Jerusalem but an ongoing

war stopped them form going to the holy land but
they had a plan b they would present themselves
to pope and used them as he wished, when the
pope agreed, they decided that they need more
definite commitment to one another, they discern
and decided at end to become a religious order.
On the journey to Jerusalem they stopped at a little chapel called La
Storta, a wayside chapel of the pilgrims. Ignatius stopped and prayed he
had a vision of the father and the son. “Son, I want you to take this
man, Ignatius to do work with you “ and Jesus turned to him “ I want
you to come and labor alongside me” this was the confirmation that
Ignatius wanted for all his life, that he followed what God wanted him
to do and the last process of discerning is confirmation. God wanted
Ignatius to be alongside him to work and labor and confirmed that this
path that Ignatius take was the right path.
