STICK SYSTEM CURTAIN WALL CASE STUDY.

HONG KONG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
 Located on a man made island of Chek Lap
Kok, in 1998 by by the Foster and Partners.
 The program featured every kind of urban
infrastructure, including the airport itself,
roads, railways, tunnels, bridges, and an entire
new town.
 The structure has a layout as that of a wing of
an aeroplane.
 It is characterized by a lightweight roof
canopy, kept free of service installations, the
use of natural lighting and the integration
beneath the main passenger concourse of all
the technical equipments for baggage
handling, environmental services and
transportation.

 The above image shows the departure area , surrounded by GLASS
glass wall.
 Glass Modules : 3m X 2m
 A series of high bow back mullions that varies in height of
maximum 2-3 mtrs, to support the curtain wall system.  Mullion : 120 mm x 80mm Steel R.H.S

 The glass wall features a laminated film sandwiched between  Tranform : 120 mm x 80mm Steel R.H.S
2 layers of glass to reflect sunlight.
 Back Chord : 114 Steel C.H.S
