Introduction :
 The Capital of Andhra Pradesh is Amravati.

 In Andhra Pradesh, the official language is


Telugu.

 The area of the state is 1,60,205 sq km and


the population is approx. 4,93,86,799.

 There are 25 Lok Sabha seats, 11 Rajya Sabha


seats, and 175+58 assembly seats.

• Andhra Pradesh is located in the southern part
of India and its neighboring states are Tamil
Nadu, Telangana, Odisha and Karnataka.

• Krishna and Godavari are two main rivers


that flow across the state.

• Andhra Pradesh has a 975km long Coastline in


the bay of Bengal, 2nd highest in India after
Gujarat.

• Arma Konda (in eastern ghats) is the Highest


peak in Andhra Pradesh with an altitude of
1680m.

CLIMATE
 Andhra Pradesh is situated near the Bay of Bengal, and
hence the climate of this state is usually humid, and the
Summers are very hot. The maximum temperature in
summers can exceed up to 35°C to 40°C.

 Since the state has a long coastal belt the winters are not
very cold. The range of winter temperature is generally 12
to 30 °C 

 Monsoon in Andhra Pradesh is decreased. The coastal


region’s rainfall of about 45-47 inches per year.

 Kuchipudi is the cultural dance recognized as the
official dance form of Andhra Pradesh.

 Machilipatnam and Srikalahasti Kalamkari are the two


unique textile art forms practiced in Andhra Pradesh.

 Andhra Pradesh has a rich culture of Arts & Cinema.


The Telugu film culture (also known as “Tollywood”) is
the second-largest film industry in India.

 The state has many museums, which features a varied


collection of ancient sculptures, paintings, idols,
weapons, cutlery, and inscriptions, and religious
artifacts such as the Amravati Archaeological Museum,
Visakha Museum and Telugu Cultural Museum.

 Telugu Literature is famous worldwide and has a history


from around 11th Century.

Andhra’s diverse Cuisine is known for its hot & spicy taste. All three
regions of Andhra Pradesh have different cuisines.

well known Andhra Women’s attire.

Flora & Fauna
FLORA
 Andhra Pradesh has a rich biodiversity due to its vast terrain, deep
forests & two largest rivers – Krishna & Godavari.

 There are about 3000 species of angiosperms, 550 species of trees, 285
shrubs, 1765 herbs in the forests of Andhra.

FAUNA
• Andhra Pradesh’s rich Biodiversity has evolved as a natural habitat for
wildlife including Tigers, Asian Elephants, Leopards, hyenas, etc..

• Indira Gandhi Zoological park, kambalakonda wildlife sanctuary,


Krishna wildlife sanctuary, Pulikat bird sanctuary are some of the few
habitats to mention.

 Andhra Pradesh is a land blessed with many
tourist friendly attractions such as its
beautiful beaches, ancient forts, heritage
sites, stunning cliffs etc.

 The winter season between October and


February is the best time to plan a trip to
Andhra Pradesh as the temperature remains
cool and pleasant.
