IN THE FORM OF FLOOD
Over June-August 2022, Pakistan received
nearly 190% more rain than its 30-year
average. On 25 August, the government
declared a national emergency after
catastrophic flooding that affected more
than 33 million people, destroyed
1.7million homes, and led to nearly 2000
deaths. Approximately 1/3 part of Pakistan
is effected by this flood.

IN THE FORM OF FLOOD
Pakistan is responsible for less than 1 percent of global carbon
emissions but is among the most vulnerable to extreme weather
events Economic losses have been estimated at up to $40 billion.
According to one of the United Nation Survey assessed that some
10.1 million people were in need of shelter. More than 1.1 million
houses were completely destroyed or made un-live-able and more
than 2 million hectares of standing crops were damaged or lost. The
flood had a severe impact on people’s homes, livelihoods and assets.

and damage” funding as an official agenda item.
