The Yellow River is a Delta.
China’s Huang He (Yellow River) is the most sediment-
filled river on Earth. Flowing northeast to the Bo Hai Sea
from the Bayan Har Mountains, the Yellow River crosses a
plateau blanketed with up to 300 meters (1000 feet) of fine,
wind-blown soil. The soil is easily eroded, and millions of
tons of it are carried away by the river every year. Some of
it reaches the river’s mouth, where it builds and rebuilds
the delta.
黃河是一個三角洲。中國的黃河（黃河）是地球上沉
積物最多的河流。黃河從巴顏喀拉山脈向東北流入渤

society and written records) first coalesced and developed in the
middle and lower reaches of the river between 2,000 BC and
1,000 BC.
