CONCLUSION

• We can model and teach the skills that will help them to
successfully complete the jobs of their age.
• We can be more patient
• We will be less likely to blame ourselves or the child when they
behave in frustrating yet developmentally appropriate ways.
• We can affirm our students for practicing/mastering their
developmental tasks.
HOW TO HELP THEM?
• Most parents struggle with the idea of letting a child of this
age do things without supervision, but bear in mind that
your child will probably be desperate for a taste of
freedom.
• Many parents and teachers are unprepared for the changes
the child wil face between the ages of 9-12. Try to make
them comfortable.
• Try to respect the child’s friendships to a limit.
