The situation given :

A manger in a production department does not believe in listening to

others and always disagrees with others resulting in conflicts. As a
HR Manager , do you believe that communication and conflict
interact with each other? If so how? If not, why not?
Solution:
 Step 1: Understanding the current situation, and gathering information regarding the situation
from all the parties involved.
Step 2: As we want to resolve the issue we will use either one of the following negotiation style-
1. Collaborating (win –win)
2. Compromising ( both parties compromise)
Step 3: Establishing a clear communication between the parties.
Step 4: Coming to an agreement.
Step 5: Reflecting.
The situation given can be resolved by establishing trust, communication and interaction.
Facts should be considered and records should be maintained.
The Manager and team should be made comfortable. Both parties should open up and explain
their narrative.
 There should be separate one on one interaction.
The manager should be provide with adequate information regarding the issue.
Give the manager a chance to explain.
Give them two options - 1) Collaborate with the Team (work in a constructive manner)
- 2) Compromise with the Team ( make compromises )
 Monitor the situation and dynamics, and observe weather the issue is resolved on is persisting .
If persisting , re-negotiations should be considered.
If resolved then, reflection should be n done.
Thankyou.
