General Information :

• Montenegro is a country situated in a region called


the Balkans, It is bordered by Croatia to the west,
Bosnia and Herzegovina to the north, Serbia and
Kosovo to the east, Albania to the south and from
Italy by the Adriatic Sea.
• The weather in Montenegro is similar to other
Mediterranean countries, ranging from 25 to 30
degrees in the summer and 4 to 11 degrees In the
winter.
• Montenegro has a population of 620,173 and a land
mass of  13,812 km making it a very small country
which is why most people travel using intercity buses
The Latin alphabet :

The Language :
• The official language spoken in Montenegro
is called Montenegrin but, Serbian, Bosnian,
The Cyrillic alphabet :
Croatian and Albanian are also official
languages in Montenegro.
• Montenegrin uses the Cyrillic and Latin
alphabet interchangeably.
• In a foreigners point of view, this language is
very hard to speak and understand if you
aren't from Montenegros neighbouring
countries.
The Landscape : 
• Montenegro has an amazing landscape
with sunny coasts, rivers, mountains and
valleys . It is a perfect country for
anyone who enjoys adventuring and
nature related activities such as hiking,
canyoning, rafting.
 The Food :
• Montenegrin food is primarily inspired by
Italian, Hungarian and Turkish food but still
have their own traditional recipes such as
Buzara which is a garlicky seafood dish
(shrimp, prawns, clams, squid)  and Njeguški
pršut which is made of prosciutto, cheese
and sausage
• In my opinion Montenegro has unique
delicacies that many foreigners would enjoy
trying and eating in their daily life

Culture and etiquette :

• Montenegro is a very conservative country, 96% of the


inhabitants view themselves as orthodox Christians,
Montenegrins are known throughout the Balkans for
being very lazy with one phrase summing up their
culture perfectly, "Man is born tired and lives to get a
rest."
• Time keeping is not highly valued in Montenegro so
whilst you should be punctual, do not expect the same
of your Montenegrin colleagues. A handshake at the
beginning and end of a meeting is considered the
norm; always shake hands with any women present
before the men. Use titles and surnames when
addressing people.
Cost of living :
• Family of four estimated monthly costs
are 1,354.8JOD (1,789.7€) without rent.
• A single person estimated monthly costs
are 388.1JOD (512.7€) without rent.
• Cost of living in Montenegro is, on average, 16.7% lower than
in Jordan.
• Rent in Montenegro is, on average, 53.8% higher than in Jordan.
Statistics :
Conclusion :
• Overall Montenegro is a great country to live in as it has many
fun activities to offer for its residents , ranks highly in
security, education, personal freedom and living conditions. However
Montenegro does have some disadvantages due to its fairly high cost
of living.
