SCOPE AND DELIMITATION
SCOPE AND DELIMITATION
• Scope: Examine whether ginger, peppermint, and honey tea
tablets can be used as initial sore throat relief medication for
teachers in BESTCAP Career College, Inc.

• Boundaries: The researchers only consider a small population size

as the subject of the study.
REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE
AND STUDIES
RELATED LITERATURE

• As discussed in the journal of the University Health Service (n.d.), an increase in fluid intake thins out
mucus around the throat area and help retain its natural moisture. Furthermore, most doctors in the field
recommend drinking more fluids if having difficulties in vocal quality.
RELATED LITERATURE

• One of the most efficient ways to drink water is by adding other beneficial ingredients. Typically,
traditional herbal plants are utilized to make herbal teas. This increase the effectiveness of taking fluids in
aiding sore throat. Additionally, it can also provide other sensations as these ingredients have unique
medicinal properties, such as ginger's strong flavor, peppermint's cooling effect, and honey's healthy
sweetness.
RELATED STUDIES
• PEPPERMINT

• Peppermint possesses high anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and anti-oxidant properties that
make it perfect for the preventive and curing treatment of various illnesses such as flu, headache, red eyes,
fever, and sore throat (Mahendran & Rahman, 2020; Zhao et al., 2020)
RELATED STUDIES
HONEY

In a study by Samarghandian et al. (2017), much evidence has proven the health-beneficial effects of
honey, indicating high level of anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-diabetic properties as well
as the respiratory, gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, and nervous system protection (similar to peppermint).
RELATED STUDIES
HONEY

• Furthermore, because of its high-level monosaccharide content (mainly fructose and glucose), honey has

been used as a natural sweetener since ancient times. This saccharide is also the most important sugar of

honey and is attributed to most of its nutritional and physical effects (Manyi-Loh et al., 2011).
RELATED STUDIES
GINGER
• Based on the study of Shahrajabian et al. (2019), Ginger and its mounted compounds, such as Fe, Mg,
Ca, food regimen C, flavonoids, and phenolic compounds, has lengthy been used as an herbal remedy to
deal with a range of signs and symptoms and signs and symptoms consisting of vomiting, pain, bloodless
signs and signs, and symptoms. It has been greatly used for arthritis, cramps, sprains, sore throats,
rheumatism, muscular aches, pains, vomiting, constipation, indigestion, hypertension, dementia, fever, and
infectious diseases.
RELATED STUDIES
GINGER

The study of Haniadka et al. (2013),

It is considered a blanketed herbal medication with few and insignificant adverse/side effects.

METHODS AND PROCEDURE
RESEARCH DESIGN

Why do we use the Experimental Research Design in the study?

Control group: Boiling process of tea leaves

Experimental group: Tea Tablets

RESEARCH DESIGN
• The research design will involve using observation and
measurements to test the hypothesis

• Cross-sectional research design

• Quantitative methods will be used to determine the difference

between the two mentioned groups
LOCALE OF THE STUDY

• The study will be conducted at BESTCAP Career College, Inc., Malacampa, Camiling, Tarlac, where the
researchers are currently enrolled and the respondents’ workplace.
RESPONDENTS OF THE STUDY
• BCCI: Has twenty-eight teaching staffs

• In order to determine the needed sample size, Slovin’s formula is used with a 5% margin of error:

Where:
n is the sample size
N is the total number of population
e is the margin of error
RESPONDENTS OF THE STUDY
• Substituting the values:

• The results shows that 26 teachers are needed to be considered in

order to produce a reliable data.
RESPONDENTS OF THE STUDY
• In choosing the respondents, fish bowl or simple random sampling
is employed.
DATA GATHERING INSTRUMENT
• I will add visual presentations here
DATA GATHERING PROCEDURE
• Preliminary procedure

• after getting the approval, the researchers will distribute the products to the chosen respondents and layout
instructions on the product's procedure.

• In the event that all questionnaires are accomplished, the researchers, with the help of the research adviser,
will look in depth at the richness of the data gathered and will encode it to give a better way of analyzing
results. From that, the researchers will summarize, present, and interpret the data gathered.
EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURE
• Peppermint essential oil: its phytochemistry, biological activity,
pharmacological effect and application" review by Zhao et al.
(2022), the smaller the particle size and moisture content of an
ingredient, the more efficient it is to extract specific qualities of
active compounds from plant materials.
EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURE
• MATERIALS:

• **I will provide pictures of the materials
