CHILD
- ANY human being under eighteen (18) years of age or

- Any person 18 years or over but is unable to fully take care


and protect oneself because of a physical or mental disability
or condition

1. ANY MARRIAGE where one or both parties are children


and solemnized in:
-Civil or church proceedings, or

-Any recognized traditional, cultural or customary manner

2. An INFORMAL UNION or COHABITATION outside


of wedlock between:

(1) An adult and a child or

(2) Between children

1. Relatives or individuals taking custody of a child in the


absence of the parents, or

2. Anyone to whom a child is given or left for care or


custody, whether permanent or temporary, or

3. Persons judicially appointed by a competent court as


guardians.

Family Code, or

2. Any person recognized to celebrate marriages by


reason of religion, tradition, or customs.
