DESIGN BRIEF
• Design brief. Students have to create a
Red Carpet look for a celebrity based on
any one of the historical arenas out of
Byzantine, French, & Victorian.
• 3 topics which students have introduced
in past weeks i.e. Byzantine costumes,
Victorian costumes and French costumes
are from those periods when fashion has
evolved rapidly where haute couture,
industrialization took place.
• So these periods will be perfect to work
as inspiration to create a modern edge,
extraordinary red carpet look.
RED CARPET LOOK
• Find out the era with you will like for your Red Carpet Look. Find out Celebrity
(national/international) for whom you like to create red carpet look.
• Detailed study about the Celeb:
1. Biography o Basic information like occupation, body type etc.
2. How does your celebrity inspired. Write adjectives or words that can describe your celeb.
3. Identify the red carpet event she goes to.
4. Select one red carpet event and study it thoroughly. o Identify the group of people attending the
red carpet event.
5. Identify the type of dress other VIPs/celebs will be wearing.
6. Create collage for the visual reference board for the event and one client board to describe
our celeb.
7. Most importantly create an inspiration board and style board from the area of costumes you
have selected from the three eras.
8. Design development for celeb in relation to the era and occassion.
9. Select one design and create a stylized illustration based on celebrity with proper backdrop on
final sheet.
