• Inflammatory bowel disease
• Age group-60-80years.
CLINICAL
• Right colon lesions usually ulcerate leading to

chronic insiduous blood loss, consequently
causing melena abdominal pain and anemia
• Left colon cancers cause abdominal cramps
and alteration in bowel habits
DIAGNOSI • Colonoscopy is the gold standard for
diagnosis of colon cancer
S • Barium enema- “Apple core” or “napkin
ring” lesion
• Investigation of choice for staging- CECT
PATHOLOG • Carcinoma in right side present as
fungating or cauliflower like growth
Y • Carcimoma of the left side of the colon
are mostly stenosing variety
• Almost all cancers of colon are
adenocarcinomas
