FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS OF VARIOUS

PROFILE OF DISC BRAKE ROTOR USING

ANSYS

Under the guidance of

Ms Syeda Ayesha.
ABSTRACT
A Disk brake is a gadget that retards/stops the revolution of a pole/wheel. A circle
slowing mechanism comprises of a brake plate, a brake caliper and brake cushions. At
the point when the brake pedal is connected, pressurized water powered liquid crushes
the brake cushion grating material against the surface of the pivoting brake plate. The
aftereffect of this contact produces erosion which empowers the vehicle to back off or
stop. Because of this erosion, warmth will be produced and the brake circle gets
warmed up which influences the execution of the plate brake under various braking
conditions. In conclusion the circle brake are comprised of solid metal presently made
up of composite materials like aluminum silica carbide and dark cast press.
In this paper center is basically accentuated around the relative execution of plate brakes
having distinctive profiles, by deciding the warmth created and warm pressure created
in the brake circle for various braking conditions. utilizing ANSYS breaking down the
distinctive sorts of brake profiles and applying the temperature, warm motion,
convection, radiation stresses and comprehending the directional warmth transition and
aggregate warmth motion, temperature and furthermore assess the which profile is
withstand and give better execution because of warm impacts. Demonstrating is
finished utilizing catia programming.
Brake disc:
 The brake plate is the part of a circle brake against which the brake
cushions are connected. The material is commonly dim iron, a type of
cast press. The plan of the plate changes to some degree. Some are
essentially strong, yet others are dug out with balances or vanes
consolidating the plate's two contact surfaces (typically included as a
component of a throwing procedure). The weight and energy of the
vehicle decides the requirement for ventilated plates The "ventilated"
circle configuration disperses the created warm and is usually utilized
on the all the more intensely stacked front plates.

ANSYS

 ANSYS is all around helpful restricted segment examination (FEA)

programming pack. Restricted system for perplexing structure little pieces
(of customer doled out size) called segments. The item completes conditions
that oversee the direct of these parts and settles them all; making a
sweeping elucidation of how the system goes about by and large.
 ANSYS gives functional strategy execution things systems circumstance.
customers underline diverse circumstances streamline thing some time
collecting of danger, insufficient plans. thought of ANSYS moreover gives an
approach to ensure that customers can see the effect of an arrangement all
things considered lead of the thing, be it electromagnetic, warm,
mechanical et cetera.
Conclusion:
 From above results observing for Disc Profiles – 1, 2 & 3, Temperature values high in 3 rd model
design less in 1st model analysis So observing the above results 3rd disc profile design is gives better
results in
 Temperature values high in 3rd model design less in 1st model analysis
 Total Heat Flux is more withstanding value in 7.4763e+006 W/m in 3rd model analysis
 Thermal Error also better withstanding value that’s why we choosing 3rd disc profile
 From the ceramic Carbone material analysis result is Temperature values high 2456.1 °C more
value comparing existing material
 Total Heat Flux and Thermal Error values also more values comparing existing material
 From the above results it is evident that among three different disc profiles (1, 2 & 3) taken for the
study the Disc Brake Profiles can be used for effective performance.
 Comparing the different results of temperature rise, obtained from thermal analysis it shows
thermal stress. It is concluded that profile 3 disk brake is the best for the present application
