Text What is Bias in writing? • Bias in writing can be defined as: • A prejudice against something an author is writing about. • An author letting feelings or emotions cloud his/her objectivity with regard to something he/she is writing. Much of what you read and hear expresses a bias. Bias is when a writer or speaker uses a selection of facts, choice of words, and quality and tone of description, to convey a particular feeling or attitude. This is where tone and mood are at play.
