life? Please describes.
The World’s Energy
Needs

Secondary 3
An energy pathway (in geography) is the flow of energy
between a producer and a consumer. Energy pathways
also refer to how energy reaches the consumer, such as
through pipelines, transmission lines, shipping routes,
roads, and rail. Having energy pathways is crucial for
energy security.

Energy Pathways
The Energy Pathways. Energy to fuel biological work is
produced aerobically in the presence of oxygen, or anaerobically
in the absence of oxygen (1). As illustrated in Figure 1-1, the
aerobic pathway produces large amounts of energy, albeit it
more slowly, and can utilize all three macronutrients as a fuel
source.
Sun as ultimate source of energy
Sun is the source of almost all the energies in our earth. Plants make food using
sunlight, the food that we get from plants and animals also has its prime source
as sunlight. The fossil fuels that we use in our daily life comes from dead plants
and animals which again have their source as solar energy.
• Solar energy → Plants(photosynthesis) →
Carbohydrate. Plants → Herbivores(food) →
Carnivores(food). Animals → Mechanical(daily
activities) and sound energy. Decay of organic
material → Fossil fuels.
