Pondicherry
• Pondicherry (or Puducherry), a French colonial settlement in
India until 1954, is now a Union Territory town bounded by
the southeastern Tamil Nadu state.

• Its French legacy is preserved in its French Quarter, with


tree-lined streets, mustard-colored colonial villas and chic
boutiques. A seaside promenade runs along the Bay of
Bengal and passes several statues, including a 4m-high
Gandhi Memorial.

Tropical wet and dry
Similar to that of coastal Tamil Nadu.

• Monsoon- August-December.
Pondicherry has dry periods in January, February,
March and April. On average, October is the wettest
month with 223.0 mm (8.78 inch) of precipitation.

• Winter- October to February


January is the coldest month.
The average temperature is 24.8 °C | 76.7 °F.
