Warmer – 2 truths 1 lie that are true and 1 thing that is false? Write
it down and then say it to your partner with a
serious face for all. Then they will try to
guess which is the lie.

Instructions:

Each student thinks of 3 sentences about themselves. 2 must be true but 1 must
be a lie. Elicit true and false/a lie… i.e. NOT true.
Model an example using information about you first and then have the students
try to guess which one they think is a lie by holding up the number of fingers to
represent which sentence they think is a lie. E.g Number 2 (students hold up 2
fingers).

Students to write 3 sentences (2 truths, 1 lie). Once finished they can read each
sentence to the group. After they have finished all 3 the group guesses which one
they think is the lie by holding up the relevant fingers. Then the student confirms
if they are correct or not. Let each student read theirs out and then everyone
else guesses.
