MRP

The SAP MRP(Material Requirement Planning) is used to


procure or produce the required material quantities on time for
in-house purpose or for fulfilling customer demands.

CONCEPTS OF MRP
Basic concepts of materials requirements planning (MRP):

● Lumpy Demand
● Lead Time
● Time Phasing
PLANT PARAMETERS
● Execute tcode “OMI8” in command field from SAP easy
access screen.
● Step 2 : – On change view plant parameters for material
requirement planning screen, click on new entries button to
maintain plant parameters for MRP.
MRP TYPE
● ND – No Planning.
● PD – MRP.
● R1 – Time-phased planning.
● VB – Manual reorder point planning.
● VM – Automatic reorder point planning.
● VV – Forecast-based planning.
MRP GROUP
● Access the activity choosing one of the following navigation
options:
IMG Menu: Production -> Materials Requirements Planning
-> MRP Groups -> Carry Out Overall Maintenance of MRP
Groups (Transaction Code: OPPRC)
● On the MRP Group screen enter the Plant field and choose
Overview.
● On the Change View “MRP Control Parameters – Material
Level”: Overview screen choose New entries.
● On the New Entries: Details of Added Entries screen, make
the required entries.
MRP CONTROLLERS
● To create the MRP Controller there is no t-code.
● IMG.
● Production.
● MRP.
● Master Data.
● Define MRP Controller.
CREATION OF MATERIAL IN MRP VIEWS
● Go to the transaction code MM01.
● Enter the new material to be created, its industry sector and
material type.
● Then click on “Select Views” to select the views of the
material master that will be created.
● The views selected for our material master creation are
Basic data1 and MRP 1-4.
● Then press Enter.
GENERATING PLANNED ORDERS / REQUISITIONS

Sometimes, it is required in business that the planned


orders/purchase requisitions/production orders can be created in
transaction code VA01 directly when sales orders are created
without running MRP for the sales orders. This can be realized
through one of the solutions below.

● Automatic planning
● Assembly To Order
● Purchase requisition with delivery scheduling
