OTHER MARKETS

OTHER MARKETS
Other markets are a combination of the money and capital
markets, because they deal with both short and long-term securities.
These may include the following:
1. Consumer Credit Market – involves parties and transactions related
to loans granted to households who desires to buy cars, appliances,
travel, or even education.
2. Organized Market – are exchanges, whether stock market or
derivatives exchanges, started as physical places where trading
took place.
3. Over-the-Counter (OTC) Market - are online trading in which
participants trade directly between two parties, without the use of a
central exchange or other third party.
4. Auction Market – trading is done by an independent third party
matching prices on orders received to buy and sell a particular
security.
5. Foreign Exchange Markets - is a global decentralized or over-the-
counter market for the trading of currencies. It includes all aspects
of buying, selling and exchanging currencies at current or
determined prices.
6. Spot Markets – buying and selling is done “on the spot,” where
financial instruments or commodities are traded for immediate
delivery. It contrasts with a futures market, in which delivery is due
at a later date.
7. Futures Market – is where contracts are originated and traded that
give the holder right to buy something in the future at a price
specified in the contract.
8. Forward Market -  is the informal over-the-counter financial market
by which contracts for future delivery are entered into.
Standardized forward contracts are called futures contracts and
traded on a futures exchange.
9. Options Market - are financial instruments that are derivatives
based on the value of underlying securities such as stocks. An
options contract offers the buyer the opportunity to buy or sell but
the holder is not required to buy or sell the asset if they choose not
to.
10. Swap Market - is a derivative contract through which two
parties exchange the cash flows or liabilities from two different
financial instruments.
