Cultural values passed on to each generation PRLACTIC
can be used to understand the political, MOBILITY
economic, social and personal behavior of a
group. PROGRESS
Freedom
Americans' understanding of freedom
is shaped by the Founding Fathers'
belief that all people are equal and that
the role of the government is to protect
each person's basic "inalienable"
rights.
Individuallism
Americans' notion of freedom focuses
on the individual, and individualism
has strong philosophical roots in
America.

Individualism, understood not only as

self-reliance but also as economic self-
sufficiency, has been a central theme
in American history.
Punctuality
Punctuality is the characteristic of being
able to complete a required task or
fulfill an obligation before or at a
previously designated time.
Volunteerism
Volunteering is generally considered an
altruistic activity, and is intended to
promote good or improve human
quality of life, which in return produces
a feeling of self-worth and
respect, but no financial gain.
Equality
The constitution in America creates a larger
system of government . The Declaration of
Independence states that " all human
beings are created equal ". Many people
believe and we can see a common
equation like "waiting in line" Regardless of
how important We can also see equality in
the classroom . All students are equal in the
eyes of professors , and many Professors
ask students to address them by their first
name.
Informality
This belief in equality causes Americans to
be somewhat informal in their behavior
towards others .

Informality is a right that is understood as

idealism, individual rights are balanced with
responsibilities , the basic unit is the family.
Idealizing what is practical
Idealize what is practical . experience
leads America to idealize whatever is
practical . In America what works is
what matters . Creativity is needed to
survive . The passion for being able to
do anything is something Americans
are proud of today . They like to think
that they are naturally born to do it
themselves .
Mobility
As a nation of immigrants, Americans
have shared from the beginning the
assumption that the practical solution
to a problem is to move elsewhere and
make a fresh start. Mobility in America
is not a sign of aimlessness but
optimism.
Progress
To most Americans, science,
technology and innovation are more
salient than history and tradition, says
Althen. Americans tend to regard
change as good, and the new as an
improvement over the old. In other
words, change is an indication of
progress. Americans also tend to
believe that every problem has a
solution.
