1. THEOLOGY
Theology comes from two Greek
words ‘theos’ (God) and ‘logos’
(study). Theology refers to the
study of God, his relation to
humankind and the world.
It can also be defined as ‘a
rational (logical) interpretation of
religious faith, practice and
experience.
Theology is a sort of reflective
inquiry which arises out of peoples’
search for their engagement with
the ultimate, the beyond.
Theology happens when religion
begins to ask question.
2. Belief
It is an intellectual act of thinking
affirmatively.
Example: The Nicene Creed
(325C.E.) or Apostles Creed of the
Christian faith affirming on
doctrines rather than on the
performance of actions.
It also refers to a system of faith
and worship.
3. Faith
It is a strong belief in God or in the
doctrines of a religion, based on
spiritual apprehension rather than
proof.
Faith is the assurance of things
hoped for, the conviction of things
not seen (Biblical definition)
Example: We believe there is God
even though we did not see him.
4. PRAYER
is an invocation or act that seeks to activate
a rapport with an object of worship through
deliberate communication.
It also refers to an act of supplication or
intercession directed towards a deity or a
deified ancestor.
Prayer is responding to God, by
thoughts and by deeds, with or
without words.
5. Worship
An action of glorifying and
revering God.
Example: Praying to God, doing
good works, etc.
