● Find your BHAP/X factor by solving for x and y Formula.

I want to help ___x___ (who) to ___y___(what) = My Big, Hairy Audacious Problem

(BHAP)

To find y, you must first determine your story + your superpowers.

To help x, you can solve for y first.

Let’s solve for x (who) and y (what).

To find x (who), ask yourself: who am I passionate about helping?

What types of characters keep reappearing in your story? Reflect then list out people you
feel called to serve and passionate about helping. You will then needs tools to develop
empathy to best help and not harm them.

People you feel called to serve.

The world has BIG PROBLEMS
Nearly 800 million people approximately don't have access to
clean water
Almost 2.5 billion don't have access to clean sanitation
40 million children worldwide live without a shelter
2 billion people don't have a bank account or access to basic
financial services
On the same planet 1.6 billion people live without electricity
Over 120 people die from suicide every day in the US
How will you respond?
YOU CAN BE THE SOLUTION
Do more with what you've been given. Start something that
changes lives
Where to begin?

“When we do for those in need what they have the
capacity to do for themselves, we disempower them.”
-Robert D. Lupton, Toxic Charity
Give a man a fish, you can feed him for a day; show
him how to catch a fish, and you can feed him for a
lifetime
Give man a fish.

Teach man to fish.

Empower and invest in man.

Help him buy the lake, start a fish hatchery, a chain of restaurants, sell fishing
licenses to the community, influence national policy, and build a fish
entrepreneur and training network for his country.
