Data Processing
- It is the translation of information either
manually or electronically into qualitative
form for use in research analysis.
- It is a series of actions or steps performed on
data to verify, organize, transform, integrate,
and extract data in an appropriate form for
subsequent use.
 Methods of processing
– Manual Data Processing
The entire process are all done with human intervention and without any
use of any other electronic device or automation software.
– Mechanical Data Processing
Data is processed through the use of devices and machines.
– Electronic Data Processing
Data is processed with modern technologies using data processing
software and programs.

- It is the process of grouping the statistical data

under various understandable homogenous
groups for the purpose of convenient
interpretation.
- There should be uniformity of attributes in each
homogenous group, thus, grouping of data is
made according to similarity
2. Coding of Data

A code in research methodology is a

short word or phrase describing the
meaning and context of the whole
sentence, phrase or paragraph.

summarizing raw data and
displaying it in compact form for
further analysis.
