HISTORY OF BOBSLEIGH

 Bobsleigh has a long history.

Switzerland. It became popular attraction for wealthy tourists
in North countries. Both men and women were allowed to

Cresta Run in 1884. This track was later used for two Winter
Olympics.
 Men's four-man bobsleigh appeared in the first ever Winter
Olympic Games in 1924.
HOW IT WORKS

Bobsleigh has two or four players. A two-man team (usually woman bobsleigh) consists of a
driver and brakeman. A four-man team has extra pushers, who provide more pushing power
at the start.
1. The driver enters first. Than two pushers jump into the
sledges. This generates the speed.
2. When the sledges racing with the speed of 40 km per hour, the
brakeman jump in.
3. The driver does most of the steering, and the brakeman stops
the sled after crossing the finish line.
4. After the runs, the team with the fastest overall time wins.
5. The team can win even if the sled overturns, but all members
pass the finish line inside the sled.
INTERESTING FACTS

1. Many bobsledding runs are at least 1,500 meters long

with around 15 turns during a race.
2. Bobsleighs world᾽s record is 201 km/h.

steel sleds.
4. Bobs are very expensive. That why it considered as sport

euros.
