CONCEPT OF HUMAN RIGHTS

• International Law was solely concerned with States in the classical period
which was influenced by the theory of state sovereignty.
• Rights in question were enjoyed by the individuals concerned not as rights
in International Law but as rights derived from national law.

human rights.
• Since these rights belong to them because of their very existence, they
become operative with their birth.
• The idea of human right is bound up with the idea of human dignity. (J.
