gestures, how we dress or act even our scent.
WHY NONVERBAL
COMMUNICATION MATTER?
 Nonverbal communication help you relay messages
that are clearly understood by your intended
receivers.
 You can punctuate, reinforce, emphasize , and eleven
your communication with any of the above methods
of nonverbal communication.
 Non-verbal communication helps create shared
meaning.
For example, when someone
tells you that everything is fine,
but everything about his tone,
facial expression, body posture,
and failure to smile or
incongruent, we don’t believe
the words.
TIPS IN SENDING MESSAGES
For the message to sent and receive effectively,
consider the following 4c’s
1.Comprehension
-is the act or action of grasping with the
intellect (Merriam Webster 2018)
Three tips for a better message
comprehension:
a. Make the message clear and sharp.
b. Repetition helps.
c. Keep it simple don’t go too deep.
2.CONNECTION
The audience should be able to get the
message, resonate with them has meaning
and significance to them and usually triggers
an irrational or emotional respond :
prostration, excitement, anger, passion, joy,
happiness, sadness and so on. When
connection is there it well spark new
behaviors and action.
3.CREDIBILITY
The audience or receiver need to believed who
is saying ,what is being said, or how it is being
said . Otherwise, the connection begins to
breakdown because the audience may not
completely understand a communicators message;
and even connect with it on an emotional level
then promptly turn around and say that coming
from this particular source, they aren't buying it.
4.Contagiousness
In communication contagiousness is a
good thing. You want your audience to
“catch the message”, run with it and
spread it around, discuss with friends,
find yourself re-enacting it, or repeat
the slogan or catch phrase in
conversations. That’s contagiousness.
To be contagious, a message has to be
energetic, new, different and memorable.
It should also evoke a vivid emotional
response, have “talk” potential, motivate
the target to do something, and elicit a
demonstrable reaction.
