• Nagkahiusang Mag-uuma sa Guinhalinan Cooperative
(NAGMASAGUICO) is a cooperative, registered under the
Cooperative Development Authority with an Registration
Number: 9520-13003187 in the province of Surigao Del Sur,
CARAGA.

• NAGMASAGUICO offers credits and savings to the people


who are interested in farming. It is located at Purok 3 Barobo,
Surigao del Sur. A group composed of 15 farmers initiated its
creation with the purpose of addressing the need to increase
production (harvest) at a reduced cost.
• Guinhalinan residents are mostly rice farmers and the
lack of post – harvest facilities limits production. The
group pooled their resources and was able to raise
fifteen thousand pesos (P 15,000.00).
History

• From year 2010 -2016, the cooperative incurred losses due to


highly delinquency rate. On the positive side, 2012 was an
exception when it first earned Php 141, 972.67 total net
surplus.

• Year 2017 – 2019 has a progress and with this progress, the
cooperative employed 7 regular employees enjoying full
benefits: SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-ibig, and Life Insurance

• By May 2021 the coop was able to gain a surplus of Php


218,276.68.

NAGMASAGUICO offers a services like credit


and savings. 
Agencies that support NAGMASAGUICO:

• NATCCO Network- NAGMASAGUICO signed a


memorandum of Partnership Agreement with NATCCO,
to borrow funds in a form of interest-bearing loans at
13% per annum.

• Department of Agriculture (DA) and Department of


Agrarian Reform (DAR)- offered funding possibilities.

ART. 4. Cooperative Principles.

(1) Voluntary and Open


Membership- NAGMASAGUICO
is an organization that accept
membership from everyone who
can benefit from their services
and is willing to fulfill their
obligations without regard to
gender, race, ethnicity, nationality,
politics, or religion.
(2) Democrative Member
Control-  Members of
NAGMASAGUICO actively
participate in establishing the
policies and making decisions,
and each member has an equal
number of votes.
(3) Member Economic
Participation- Each
NAGMASAGUICO member
contributes equally to their
cooperative, and they manage
the organization's money.
(4) Autonomy and
Independence- If
NAGMASAGUICO enter into
agreements with other
organizations, such as the
government, or generate money
from outside sources, they must
do so under conditions that
guarantee democratic control
over their members and
preserve their cooperative
autonomy.
(5) Education, Training and
Information- NAGMASAGUICO offers
education and training to its members and
staff for the development of the
cooperative.

(6) Cooperation Among


Cooperatives- When  NAGMASAGUICO
collaborate through local, national,
regional, and worldwide organizations,
they are also able to serve their members
and the cooperative movement as a whole.
(7) Concern for Community-
NAGMASAGUICO use membership-supported
policies to promote the long-term growth of their
local communities.

Some activities that NAGMASAGUICO engages


in:
• Participates in community celebrations such
as Fiesta and Araw ng Barobo;
• Participates in community – related activities
such as tree planting, providing food to front
liners at this time of pandemic;
• Other activities such as provision of grocery
packs to members or free blood pressure
check during General Assembly meetings
and/or anniversary celebrations.
CHAPTER II: ORGANIZATION AND  REGISTRATION
ART. 6. Purposes of Cooperatives.
NAGMASAGUICO may be organized and registered for any or all of
the following purposes:
(1) To encourage thrift and savings mobilization among the members;
(2) To generate funds and extend credit to the members for productive
and provident purposes;
(3) To provide goods and services and other requirements to the
members;
(4) To acquire lands and provide housing benefits for the members;
(5) To promote and advance the economic, social and educational
status of the members; and
(6) To encourage and promote self-help or self-employment as an
engine for economic growth and poverty alleviation;
ART. 23. Type and Categories of Cooperatives.

NAGMASAGUICO falls under:

• Credit Cooperative- one that promotes and undertakes savings


and lending services among its members. It generates a common
pool of funds in order to provide financial assistance to its members
for productive and provident purposes;

NAGMASUICO offers credits and savings to the members and to the


people who are interested in farming.
Conclusion:
NAGMASAGUICO is dedicated to its mission of ensuring the
sustainability of the cooperative and giving quality service to its
members. The goal is the attainment of economic development and
social justice by transforming the lives of its members.

 NAGMASAGUICO is a cooperative that aims to help financially to the


people who are interested in farming. They offer services that will help
farmers to start up their business. If you want to start up in farming and
