Locking the LMT

 This operation can prevent unsafe operations of unauthorized users.

Switching a BSC Board
 Function Description
 To transfer the services carried in the active board to the standby board when the active
board fails.
 Be cautious when switching over a board. If the board switchover fails, the related links will
be disrupted and the service data will be lost.

Resetting a BSC Board
 Function Description
 To reset a BSC board , to reset the CPU or to reset the DSP
 Be cautious when resetting a board. If the standby board of the board to be reset is not
installed or fails, the services carried on this board will be disrupted when the board is reset.

Maintaining the Fan Box
 Function Description
 To query the attributes of the fan box and reset the fan box
 The fan box is used to maintain the working temperature of the BSC boards. To maintain the
normal running of the fan box, you need to monitor and maintain the fan box in real time.

Resetting the Power Distribution Box
 Function Description
 To reset the power distribution box
 The power distribution box provides power supply to the cabinet. When the power
distribution box fails, reset it to recover its functions such as power detection and
overvoltage protection.

Resetting a Subrack
 Function Description
 To reset all the boards in a subrack
 When the control subrack of the fan box or power distribution box is reset, the fan box or
power distribution box is also reset
 The reset of a BSC6000 subrack disrupts the existing services of the system. Be cautious
when resetting a subrack.

 The interference band is the uplink interference level reported by the BTS to the BSC
through an RF RESOURCE INDICATION message. The interference band is divided into
five grades, as listed in Table 4-2.

Testing Idle Timeslots
 Function Description
 To test idle timeslots
 In the network optimization process, the network has to be manually set to maximum
interference mode to obtain the maximum interference of the entire network. All the idle
timeslots in a specific area are set to send idle frames to achieve this maximum interference
mode.
