Locking the LMT
 To manually lock the BSC6000 Local Maintenance Terminal
 This operation can prevent unsafe operations of unauthorized users.
 Procedure
 Choose System > Lock System or Press F6.

Changing the Password
 To change the password of the existing user
 All the users except the guests can change their passwords. The changed password takes
effect when you log in to the GBAM next time.
 Procedure
 Choose System > Change Password

Resetting the GBAM Process
 To reset the GBAM process when the GBAM is faulty

Switching a BSC Board
 To transfer the services carried in the active board to the standby board when the active
board fails.
 Be cautious when switching over a board. If the board switchover fails, the related links will
be disrupted and the service data will be lost.
 Procedure
 ChooseBSC Maintenance > Maintain Device > Switch Over BSC Board

Resetting a BSC Board
 To reset a BSC board , to reset the CPU or to reset the DSP
 Be cautious when resetting a board. If the standby board of the board to be reset is not
installed or fails, the services carried on this board will be disrupted when the board is reset.
 Procedure
 Choose BSC Maintenance > Maintain Device > Reset BSC Board.

Maintaining the Fan Box
 To query the attributes of the fan box and reset the fan box
 The fan box is used to maintain the working temperature of the BSC boards. To maintain the
normal running of the fan box, you need to monitor and maintain the fan box in real time.
 Procedure
 Choose BSC Maintenance > Maintain Device > Maintain Fan Box

Resetting the Power Distribution Box
 To reset the power distribution box
 The power distribution box provides power supply to the cabinet. When the power
distribution box fails, reset it to recover its functions such as power detection and
overvoltage protection.
 Procedure
 Choose BSC Maintenance > Maintain Device > Reset Power Box.

Resetting a Subrack
 To reset all the boards in a subrack
 When the control subrack of the fan box or power distribution box is reset, the fan box or
power distribution box is also reset
 The reset of a BSC6000 subrack disrupts the existing services of the system. Be cautious
when resetting a subrack.
 Procedure
 Choose BSC Maintenance > Maintain Device > Reset Subrack

 To query the work status of the

Querying the Board Bar Code
 To query the bar codes of BTS boards
 The bar code of a board indicates the manufacturing information of the board. When errors
occur in several boards, query the bar codes to check whether the boards produced in a
batch are faulty.

Querying BTS Attributes
 To query BTS attributes, such as Manufacturer ID, Software Configuration, and
Hardware Configuration

Resetting the BTS in Levels
 To reset a or a cell or site at level 3 or level 4
 Be cautious about BTS reset. The reset of a BTS leads to site initialization, data reloading,
and service disruption.

Browsing Initialization Process Messages
 To browse the initialization process of all the sites controlled by a BSC
 The initialization process message shows the site reset. If the initialization fails, this
message shows the failure cause.

Modifying Management Status
 To lock, unlock, or shut down a cell,
TRX, or channel
 The status of an object can be
modified only when its upper-level
objects are unlocked.

 The interference band is the uplink interference level reported by the BTS to the BSC
through an RF RESOURCE INDICATION message. The interference band is divided into
five grades, as listed in Table 4-2.
 If the interference band of an
idle channel is in grades 4 or 5,
the channel interference exists.
