ADVERBS OF FREQUENCY
We use them to say how often we do
something:
Subj + adverb of frequency + verb
ALWAYS = siempre
USUALLY = usualmente • I always play football
SOMETIMES = a veces • You usually dance salsa
OFTEN = a menudo • She sometimes cooks ceviche
HARDLY EVER = rara ves
• He often goes to the cinema
NEVER = nunca
• They hardly ever travel abroad
Interrogative:
Negative: Do/ does + subj + A.F + verb

Subj + don´t / doesn´t + A.F + verb • Do you usually play tennis on Saturday?
• Does he always have a shower?
• I don´t often play tennis
• She doesn´t often dance salsa Wh + do/ does + subj + A.F + verb

• We never drink alcohol • What do you usually do everyday?

• We don´t never drink alcohol


• How often do you cook ceviche?

How often = con que frecuencia


VERB TO BE
Adverbs of Frequency go after verb to be:

am/are/is + subj + A.F


Subj + am/is/are + A.F
• He is always tired • Are you always tired?
• I am sometimes busy • Is she sometimes busy?
• They are usually hungry • Am I always in the school?

Subj + am/is/are + not + A.F


• He isn´t always tired
• I am not sometimes busy
• They aren´t usually hungry
EXPRESSION OF FREQUENCY
Usually go at the end of the
sentence: • I play tennis every day
• She travels every month
• Every = day, month, year, weekend,
etc • I cook once a day
• Once = a day , a week, a month, a • They go to the cinema once a year
