• Martha was distracted in doing
• Begun to complain because of a lot of
chores
• Mary was listening with Jesus’ word.
• Delighted being at Jesus feet
2 Choices In Life
1. Necessities – about many things, often
distracted
2. Necessary – about one thing
In our relationship with Jesus 2 parts are
Necessary
1. DOING FOR GOD
2. BEING WITH GOD (better part)
Mary Choose the Better Part
• A person who practices being before doing
operates from a place of emotional and
spiritual fullness, deeply aware of
themselves, others, and God.
• As a result, their being with God is
sufficient to sustain their doing for God.
Martha was Distracted
• Things does not happened according to her expectation
• The problem of psychological projection
• Psychological projection is a defense mechanism people subconsciously employ in
order to cope with difficult feelings or emotions. Psychological projection involves
projecting undesirable feelings or emotions onto someone else, rather than admitting to
or dealing with the unwanted feelings.

•Leads to Irrational prayer request

•You are worried and troubled

• Spend more time with Jesus
