Mistreatment of the Citizens of

North Korea

 Dictatorship, Kim-Jung Un rules with absolute authority
 Socialist economy
 Majority of money goes to the powerful and the military
Introduction  Isolated from the rest of the world
 Strict regulations
 Poor treatment of its citizens
 In 2020, an estimated 60% of citizens lived below the poverty
line
 Citizens are heavily taxed
Poverty in  Little to no government assistance for the poor
North Korea  Citizens are forced to pay for things that are normally free
 Students have to pay for their own desk and chair
 Government spent $39/year per person on healthcare
 No freedom of speech
 Speaking out against government or “beloved leader” is heavily
punished

Infringements  No contact with outside world

Freedoms  Practice of religion is prohibited

 No fair elections
 An election is held, but only Kim-Jun Un’s name is on the ballot

 Poor and Vulnerable
 Poor are to be helped
 Government is supposed to provide assistance
 Only make the problem worse

Teaching  Government does not grant its people basic right

 Human Dignity
Principles  Everyone is made in God’s image
 Government is supposed to care and provide for its people
 Only the rich and powerful are cared for
