CRUDE OIL

REFINIG PROCESS
CRUDE OIL a mixture of hydrocarbons that exists in liquid phase in natural underground
reservoirs and remains liquid at atmospheric pressure after passing through
surface separating facilities

FRACTION •  This is  process where the crude oil is  heated and is transfer into the distillation
DISTILLATION tower where it is separated into different fraction with different boiling point in
the column, hottest at the bottom and cooler at the top.

CATALYTIC • This process is where the heavy liquids from the distillation columns is break
CRACKING down into lighter liquids.

REFORMING The process using a catalyst to raise both the quality and volume of gasoline
produced by refiners.

TREATMENT The process is where the sulfur, nitrogen, and heavy metals, are remove from the crude oil,
removes these chemicals by binding them with hydrogen, absorbing them in separate
columns. This aids in improving the quality of the feed stock in the refinery.

These petroleum products include gasoline, distillates such as

PRODUCT diesel fuel and heating oil, jet fuel, petrochemical feedstocks,
waxes, lubricating oils, and asphalt.
