 Internal Storage
Internal Storage can be referred to as in several terms,
but most often it is associated with a computer’s
internal hard drive. This is the primary storage used to
store a user’s files and applications. When you store an
app on your device you will find that it has created a
unique folder that can only accessed by that said app;
this is also known as internal storage.

Advantages –
Allows data and applications to load/process very rapidly into
memory ready for use; this data can be accessed much faster than
data which is stored on an external storage device.
Internal storage retains data within the electronic device and
provides an extra security layer for important files stored in your
hardware.
Disadvantages-
If in the worst case scenario the hard disk drive fails (and it will),
there’s a huge possibility that all your data and applications may
be lost.
They are limited to their memory capacity and can leave less
room for other applications to run properly on your device.
 External Storage
External storage, in computing terms, refers to all of the
addressable data that is not stored on a drive’s internal to the
system. It isn’t apart of a computer’s main memory or storage,
hence it is called secondary or auxiliary storage. It mainly
comprises of devices that store information outside a computer.

Advantages-
Portability – many of the hard drives present today are small and
lightweight and easily moved from one location to another.
Performance – using an external drive as your main drive can
speed up the performance of Macs with slower internal drives.
This can allow for easier access of important data when its
needed.
Disadvantages –
Limited space – you cant upgrade your external hard drive once
the space runs out.
If not taken care of properly this type of storage can easily be
erased and break easily.
